About the Event
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! - The first ever Bimini Coastal Community Cleanup is family friendly and fun for all ages, with FREE t-shirts, prizes, and lunch. Local businesses are offering fabulous Eco-Tourism Packages (ferries, diving, hotel stays, and more!) to ensure that YOU will be there to support the community!
On September 21 (International Coastal Cleanup Day), volunteers will move by boat, paddlecraft, and/or shoreline walking, to search beaches and more of the island's beautiful shoreline, to find and remove ocean plastics and manmade litter that negatively impact the marine ecosystem and coastal economy.
At 7am, we will start from the pier at Bimini Craft Center, and after the four hour search, we will return at noon to the same location for weigh-in of colleted debris. After the weigh-in, a free catered lunch, and great raffle prizes will be hosted for event volunteers at Bimini Big Game Club Resort and Marina.
We invite Bimini residents and visitors, both, to register at this link to participate in this FUN marine debris cleanup event!
This Ocean Aid 360 experience is made possible through partnership with The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation and many supportive local businesses. The Coastal Community Cleanup showcases what a community can accomplish while working together against marine debris.
FUN FACT: During OA360's most recent Bahamas event (at Harbour Island), April 2024, 212 volunteers - including 109 local students - took in more than 9,200 pounds of ocean plastics in just four hours!
