About the Event
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! - The Coastal Community Cleanup is family friendly and fun for all ages.
By boat, paddlecraft, and/or shoreline walking, volunteers will search Pink Sands Beach, Bottom Harbour, and more of the island's beautiful shoreline, to find and remove ocean plastics and manmade litter that negatively impact the marine ecosystem and coastal economy.
After the four hour search, we will return to Valentine's Marina for weigh-in of colleted debris, a free catered lunch, and great raffle prizes for volunteers.
We invite Harbour Island residents and visitors, both, to register in this FUN marine debris cleanup event!
This event is made possible through partnership with The Grassy Creek Foundation, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, The Harbour Island Green School, and supportive local businesses. The Coastal Community Cleanup showcases what a community can accomplish while working together against marine debris.
FUN FACT: During the last event at Harbour Island, in May 2023, 160 volunteers took in more than 8,890 pounds of debris in just four hours!
